ASUS Transformer Book T300

Device Description

The ASUS Transformer Book T300 is a family of 2-in-1 convertible tablets that support a physical keyboard dock. These tablets use a 4th Generation Intel Core processor (formerly "Haswell")

There are a few variants of this tablet, including models with an i3, i5, and i7 processor. Some of these tablets ship with Qualcomm Atheros Wi-Fi and some ship with Intel 7260 "Wilkins Peak" Wi-Fi.

This tablet line should not be confused with the ASUS Transformer Book T100 family which appears similar externally, but is powered by an Intel Atom processor.

Support Status

  • Transformer Book T300 - Green (Console OS works well on this device)

Console OS DR1 has been tested and is supported for the Transformer Book T300 family. Late breaking support notes will be added below as broader testing and guidance is updated:

  • The wireless keyboard dock may not function, especially when the keyboard is detached and used wirelessly. This is due ASUS opting for a discreet RF driver, instead of industry-standard Bluetooth for wireless keyboard communication.
  • Models with Qualcomm Atheros Wi-Fi will not work with built-in Wi-Fi in this version. We expect to add support for non-Intel Wi-Fi after completing our transition to Android 5.0, Lollipop. See Release Notes for alternative dongle options until we add support.

Installation

Important: Running the latest BIOS (and applying any other available firmware updates) is essential to ensuring Console OS works properly. You should be running BIOS 208 or later before attempting installation. Visit support.asus.com to browse to the drivers and downloads to ensure your machine is fully up-to-date.

To install Console OS on the T300, you will need a keyboard. We have not tested installation with the docking wireless keyboard (see above for known issues). After using a USB keyboard to install Console OS, you can remove the keyboard and use either a Bluetooth keyboard or the T300's docking keyboard.
