Device Description

The Lenovo IdeaPad U430p is a laptop powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core processor (formerly "Haswell").

Support Status

  • IdeaPad U430p - Green (Console OS works well on this device)

Console OS Developer Release 1 (DR1) is supported on the IdeaPad U430p. Audio output may have problems, particularly over HDMI. Stereo Bluetooth is our recommended workaround. This is a known issue. DR1 requires an Intel 7260 Wi-Fi card for this machine.

If your machine came with a different Wi-Fi card, contact Lenovo to order an upgrade for your machine. Unfortunately Lenovo prohibits their devices from using Wi-Fi cards that are not obtained by Lenovo. Typically this is a $15 upgrade, it may cost more for your machine.

Our goal is to greatly expand the Wi-Fi card support in our upcoming transition to Android 5.0, Lollipop.

Installation Instructions

You must be running the latest BIOS from Lenovo.com before installing Console OS. We only test and validate Console OS using the latest system BIOS available, and BIOS updates are critical to the performance-tuning of Console OS and the underlying UEFI firmware.

Specifically, you must be running BIOS 7CCN62WW or later in order for Console OS to work properly with the IdeaPad U430p.
